On the morning of July 27, a 70-member delegation comprising Party and administrative officials of the Yantai Economic and Technological Development Zone (YEDA), led by YEDA's Director Wang Riyi, paid a visit to Haiyang City. They were accompanied by Haiyang leaders Wang Yubo, Jiang Shili, Han Shijun, Zhao Huizhen, Xing Zongli and Wang Dongkai during the tour.

The inspection tour covered Milande Machine Tool Project, the venues and auxiliary facilities zones for the 3rd Asian Beach Games, Shandong Nuclear Power Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Shandong Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant.

    After hearing introductions at the construction site of Milande Project, the delegation members acclaimed what Haiyang had achieved in restructuring development mode and developing six emerging industries - new energy, machinery and equipment manufacturing, ocean engineering, electronics and information, bio-technology and high-end service. At the ABG venues construction sites, the delegation was deeply impressed by the significant progress in the preparatory work and the fresh urban appearance following the municipal endeavors to improve urban planning. In addition, the delegation visited Shandong Nuclear Power Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Shandong Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant. All the visitors agreed that the nuclear power industry offered Haiyang a historic opportunity and will produce a far-reaching effect on local economic development.
