Yantai Working Committee for the 3rd Asian Beach Games held its first meeting on March 29, 2008. The meeting issued the Opinions of the CPC Yantai Municipal Committee and Yantai Municipal People's Government on Well Preparing for the 3rd Asian Beach Games. The meeting made it clear that the preparatory work for the 2012 Games was high on the agenda of the city. Also at the meeting, adjustment was made to the list of members of the Yantai Working Committee. 

Previously on March 1, Yantai Mayor Zhang Jiangding presided over the 3rd executive meeting of the Yantai Municipal People's Government. The meeting discussed the preparatory work for the 3rd Asian Beach Games. Mayor Zhang stressed that Yantai City shall make all efforts to support Haiyang Games.
